The new TorqLOC shaft mounting system, which is available for all F, K and S series gear units in the sizes 37, 47, 57, 67, 77, 87, 97 and 107, provides ease of use in mounting and dismounting SEW-Eurodrive gear units and geared motors. Suitable for mounting on standard bar stock shafting, the user does not need to machine the shaft prior to assembly of the drive to his machinery, thereby saving time and cost of installation.
The TorqLOC system is a cost effective alternative to conventional keyed or shrink disc mounting methods. the system consists of a shrink disc, a stop ring and two conical bushings that are inserted on each side of the hollow shaft. Before mounting the gear unit onto the machine shaft, the conical bronze bushing is secured on the shaft at the rear gear unit mounting position. Next, the gear unit is mounted on the shaft all without unnessary force as there is no tight fitting between the gear unit hollow shaft and the machine shaft. Now the steel counter bushing is inserted and the shrink disc is mounted and fastened using the detailed bolt torque tightening requirements.
Assembly of the TorqLOC system should be carried out using the supplied NOCO fluid anti-corrosion paste, except between the steel counter bushing and mating surfaces. Once the user is satisfied that all is secure, the metallic protective cover can be fitted to the gear unit for additional safety. A stainless steel version and a two shrink disc version is also available on indent from SEW in Germany.
