The SEW-Eurodrive/Ballistic Motorsport Team is again competing in New Zealand’s premier motorsport championship, the NZV8 Supercar series, for the 2010/2011 season.
The new season starts at Pukekohe Raceway on November 5th 2010 and culminates at the ITM Hamilton 400 on April 17th 2011.
Ballistic Motorsport Team has a BA Ford Falcon racecar that is prepared at the teams race engineering facilities in Hamilton. Simon Richards is the team driver. Simon is not only a top racecar driver, but also a very capable racecar engineer being part owner in the sheetmetal fabrication industry & previous experience as a racecar fabrication engineer in the British Touring Car Championship in England.
The team spends over 80 hours a week preparing the racecar doing the development, regular maintance & engineering set up that is required for each event. Simon says “to have a successful team you need to have very dedicated team of race mechanics, a panelbeater and data acquisition engineer all supporting the driver to get the best out of the racecar”. The 8 team members all have different skills but a common goal, “to have a very competitive well prepared racecar”. |
