Energy-Saving Principle
Measures for Reducing Energy Consumption

The starting points for an optimal energy-saving solution are determined on the basis of a detailed assessment of your system. The focus in this process is on the overall system. Our drive technology can optimize both output power (Pout) and power losses (Ploss).

energy-saving principle
Pin = Pout + Ploss
Energy is saved by reducing
Pout (effective) and / or
Ploss (losses)!

Pout

  • Reduced output speed (control)
  • Reduced load torque
    • Minimized friction
    • Rigid transmission elements
    • Counterweight
  • Energy-saving mode (disconnection, stand-by)

Ploss

  • Increased motor efficiency
  • Increased inverter efficiency
  • Energy-efficient design of options/functions (e.g. brake)
  • Use of released, regenerative energy
    • Direct use of energy in other axes
    • Regeneration of braking energy
    • Energy storage

These aspects are already taken into account during the development phase of the products/components in accordance with the specific requirements of the application.
